We are seeking an experienced reporter to drive our coverage of China's approach to climate change. You will take on a pivotal beat with a wide remit, focusing on the actions of policymakers, investors, consumers, executives and scientists. The successful applicant will have a deep curiosity for the intersection of business, climate, society and politics, and be adept at delivering both market-moving scoops and impactful feature stories. 
This reporter's task will be to uncover the most compelling news from a region that's the world’s largest source of emissions, and yet also the dominant supplier of green technologies and an increasingly important force in sustainable finance and climate diplomacy. You'll need an ability to smartly explain how decisions taken in China have a global impact, and to do so across the range of our platforms.  
We’ll trust you to:   Generate story and project ideas that detail the impact of climate change on China, and vividly illustrate the actions, trends and personalities that are shaping the nation's response  Break news on issues including climate and environmental policymaking, green investing and the nation's clean technology sector   Connect the dots to pitch ambitious feature stories that span Bloomberg's platforms and makes our content accessible to a diverse and business-savvy audience  Collaborate closely with colleagues across teams, bureaus and continents to deliver a global perspective to our readers  You’ll need to have:   At least 8 years of working experience in journalism  At least 5 years reporting on Climate Change  Experience in covering China as a reporterA demonstrated ability to conceive and deliver deeply reported features   Strong communication skills  Ability and willingness to travel across greater China  Fluency in both spoken and written English  Bachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualifications  Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization    We’d love to see:   Knowledge of Mandarin, with fluency being a major advantage   Experience working in a fast-paced news environment   Familiarity with journalism across platforms, including digital, video, podcasts and data visualization  Life at Bloomberg is many things, but it’s never dull.
