Job Title: Veterinary Receptionist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, compassionate, and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! As the first point of contact for clients and their pets, the receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient front office experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a genuine love for animals.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures Answer multi-line phone system; schedule appointments, answer questions, and direct calls appropriately Maintain accurate patient and client records using veterinary management software (e.g. Avimark) Process payments and handle cash, credit card, and check transactions Communicate with clients about upcoming appointments, reminders, and follow-ups Coordinate with veterinary technicians and veterinarians to ensure smooth patient flow Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area Handle emergency calls calmly and efficiently, following clinic protocols Assist with light administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and email correspondence

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a veterinary, medical, or customer service setting preferred Proficiency with computers and experience using scheduling or veterinary software (e.g., AVImark,) is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills Comfortable working around animals of all sizes and temperaments

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced clinic environment Possible exposure to pets of various temperaments, bodily fluids, and animal dander May require evening, weekend, or holiday hours depending on clinic schedule.
