Role

The Client Finance team is responsible for the recording and issuing of all Finance transactions relating to Clients that Sedgwick supports. The team has high level of engagement with both internal and external stakeholder, from the issuing of payments, communication of bank reconciliations and monthly client statements, and responding to any queries in relation to these transactions.

The role requires a candidate to support and work collaboratively with members of the Finance Department in the delivery of a high-calibre service.

Cross training into different areas will be key to the colleague’s personal professional development across all areas of Finance and to ensure the business has a robust/resilient finance team in place to provide the service required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Management of Client accounts assigned to include but not limited to:Creation of new accounts on system and with bankProducing, recording, and issuing of payments relating to clientReconciliation and issuing of monthly client statements/bordereauDaily/Weekly/Monthly Bank ReconciliationsLiaising with internal & external stakeholders in all queries relating to client accountManagement of stop payments and out of date chequesLodgment of cheques receivedRecording all banking transition both inbound and outboundManagement and reconciliation of all fees due to SedgwickManagement of close process and return of funds to ClientCross train in non-assigned accounts to provide cover for other team membersAssist in the Debt Management process within the FinancePosting of journals to the Finance accounting systemProcess Foreign currency payments on Client accountsTimely and efficient resolution of unresolved client funds issuesEngage in Finance Department projects as assignedAd hoc duties as assigned by Finance Management Team

Skills and Experience

Leaving certificate Accountancy/Business Related 3rd level Qualification and/or commenced a recognised accountancy technician’s course is desirable but not essential.Insurance qualification APA is desirable but not essential.Prior Experience within the Insurance industry/Client Portfolio Role desirable but not essentialStrong reconciliation/problem solving skillsExperience with SUN/SAP accounting system preferable but not essentialExperience working within a busy Finance department preferable but not essentialExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.Good collaborative skills, able to quickly establish effective internal and external working relationships with key people across different services/functionsCalmness and ability to respond effectively when under pressure e.g. in an emergencyAbility to meet daily/weekly / monthly deadlinesAbility to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a teamSound knowledge of MS ExcelStrong attention to detail and processHighly numericAbility to follow up on unresolved issues in timely and efficient manner
