As a Client Director, you are responsible for having a deep understanding of your client’s business and challenges - this is not limited to just media & advertising. You will work with the client team to unearth & develop business challenges into solutions that will not only drive your client’s business forward but also offers commercial opportunity for EssenceMediaCom. You will be curious, passionate, enthusiastic, and ultimately indispensable to the client and their business. You will ensure that the output from the team is of consistent quality, seamlessly translates strategic approach from end to end and that all deadlines are met. What makes a good Client Director?Is curious about the client’s Business - ask questions and request access to all business related information.Puts the clients’ interests first – focus on their business outcomes linked to KPIs rather than media opportunities.Is always proactive – provide ideas without being asked. Has a point of view - not afraid to challenge clients/internal team to achieve a better outcome.Is skilled at developing long term meaningful relationships rather than transactional ones.Understands clients as people/humans. Knows how to communicate with clients/ understand their interests/hobbies. Remains honest and accepts it when self or others make mistakes (never lie or pass the blame). Takes pride in good work – always striving for award-winning outputs from the team. Establishes a reputation of always being accessible. Collaborates with other agency partners. Exemplifies what it means to be professional - never displays negativity about a client relationship. Easily builds relationships within a client’s business - broader team, reception and other depts. Is agile and adaptable to change. Is a strong communicator, able to navigate relationships internally to ensure smooth workflow for clients or equally manage a client’s expectations if workload/timelines prove challenging. Has a strong commercial aptitude in understanding the levers that affect the P&L of the team – timesheets, resourcing, expenses etc. Has proven experience in managing project workflow. Is able to deal with complex situations and multiple viewpoints – providing clarity where needed. Has an excellent understanding of core media planning principles (e.g. flighting, recency and effective reach theory, seasonality and market prioritisation). Has excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills. What will you bring to the role?Proven experience in excellent client servicing. A desire to lead rather than manage, with the ability to switch between the two depending on the situation. Proven excellence in people management with an understanding of what drives retention and a success through others mentality. Strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders – client, client team, SBUs. Commercially aware and able to identify revenue driving opportunities for EssenceMediaCom.
