Client Advisor, Wealth Management Advisory

Foundation and Institutional Advisors (FIA) is a dedicated national practice within Northern Trust exclusively serving nonprofits, endowments, and ERISA clients with a minimum of $10 million in investable assets. The Client Advisor team is responsible for managing client relationships and delivering high quality service.

FIA is seeking a driven, proactive, and intellectually curious partner to complement our business and bring value to our clients.

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain client satisfaction by building long-lasting relationships, collaborating with the service team to ensure high quality service, and delivering client-focused solutions to meet client needs.

• Manage assigned book of business to develop a thorough understanding of the client’s needs or interests that are in alignment with business focus and priorities.

• Oversee and execute daily client servicing activities within prescribed deadlines (e.g., wire transfers, vendor payments, securities gifting, check distributions, etc.).

• Operate on multi-custodial platforms, initiate account openings, monitor fee schedules, and validate all legal documentation to meet compliance and KYC requirements.

• Adhere to policies and procedures for all administrative functions to effect prudent risk management and judgement. Recognize relationship risk issues and seek appropriate resolution.

• Collaborate with service team to coordinate meetings, review account status, and product expansion opportunities.

• Identify and address product/service gaps and development opportunities, leveraging full array of product capabilities to enhance relationship.

• Demonstrate technical knowledge and analysis to assess, research, and resolve complex client inquiries and business challenges.

• Serve as a liaison in matters related to clients to solve problems and issues with internal departments and other business units.

• Attend and actively participate in internal and external meetings to discuss relevant issues, share practical knowledge, and enhance collaboration.

• Cultivate relationships with key personnel to drive retention, growth, and client loyalty.

• Travel periodically with service team to meet existing and prospective clients.

Qualifications

• College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience.

• 5 years’ experience in asset servicing, trust, relationship management, or related fields.

• Functional/industry knowledge of financial products and services, investments, fiduciary relationships, estate planning, financial planning, capital markets, banking, and operations.

• Highly flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced and changing client-facing work environment.

• Ability to think strategically, operate independently, and multitask multiple assignments.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Hybrid

We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need. Successful candidate will work a traditional 5 day work week, and will spend their time working at least 3 days in the office per week, and any non-office days working from home.

Salary Range:

$90,820 - 154,280 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
