Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Job Summary: The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring all materials are accurately documented, properly packaged and delivered on time.
Responsibility:
Operates a forklift regularly to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas. Ensures that product is selected for shipment using the First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory method Stages product for shipment while ensuring that all shipments are accurately documented, properly labeled, and meet shipping requirements. Generates packing lists and other required documents required for shipment. Receives incoming shipments, verifies that received goods match purchase orders and packing slips, and inspects the quality of goods received. Notes and reports any discrepancies and/or quality issues. Enters information on received items into the inventory management system. Maintains organized and accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities. Monitors inventory accuracy by performing scheduled cycle counts to ensure the actual physical count is verified against the computer inventory record. Assists with physical inventory counts, as required.Academic/Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional training in logistics or supply chain management is considered an asset.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Minimum one year experience in shipping and receiving, or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and Shipping/Receiving software
• Ability to move packages and materials as needed
