Job Title: Engineering Clerk (4-month fixed term)
Division: Weir Minerals
Location: Isando Johannesburg

Purpose of Role:

Maintain the Engineering department document and drawing control, procedures and systems.

Printing and issuing of drawings, document and drawing control. This includes the issuing of drawings electronically to 3rd party suppliers for quotational purposes.

Maintain drawing register updates on drawings issued and returned, which include hard copies and electronic files.

Maintain stationery register updates on stock received and issued.

The role provides support to the in-house operations, 3rd party suppliers, procurement, planning and quality departments.

Drawings:

Adhere to Intellectual Policy, manufacturing drawings issued externally should always accompanied by Drawing Transmittal Advice.Verify drawing revision alignment, comparing latest revision on Teamcenter to revision indicated on ERP system.Maintain goals and measures relating to drawing requests as indicated on Workday.

Document / Drawing control:

Capture all drawings issued and those returned on Drawing Issue Control Register and keep register up to date.

Filing:

File drawings and documents as and when required.Ensuring that all files, drawers and cabinets are orderly and drawers are labeled accordingly.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

· Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

Matric (Grade 12) - Technical level (Mathematics – Advantageous).One - Two years’ experience with maintaining and printing/issuing drawings will be advantageous; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to manage files, understanding folder structure and have intermediate computer navigations skills.Minimum MS Office intermediate level, Basic Navigation on ERP system (JDE, BAAN, LN, SAP), Basic Navigation on PLM (GPDM / Teamcenter) – Advantageous.
