Claims Specialist Sr
Position Overview

This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the organization’s tax and unemployment insurance liabilities by managing state unemployment claims with precision and timeliness. The position involves researching, drafting, and communicating responses to state agencies, while providing expert guidance on employment information and company policies. The ideal candidate will embody the organization’s guiding principles and demonstrate professionalism, analytical acumen, and strong customer service skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough research and analysis of partner separations in collaboration with Partner Resources and other departments.Draft and submit timely, accurate, and professional responses to state unemployment claims.Provide coaching and guidance to regional Partner Resources Generalists, District Managers, and Store Managers on unemployment policies and procedures.Deliver exceptional customer service by managing expectations and addressing inquiries via phone and email.Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders.Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to support organizational goals.Stay current on state-specific unemployment laws, policies, and best practices.Ensure the confidentiality and protection of personal information for current and former partners.Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.Required QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in customer service or a related field.Demonstrated ability to navigate complex and emotionally charged situations with composure.Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proficiency in managing multiple software platforms simultaneously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Familiarity with multidisciplinary business principles and cross-functional collaboration.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Human Resources (administrative level preferred).Background in large, matrixed organizations (e.g., Nordstrom, Amazon).Experience in retail or non-retail HR contact center environments.Working knowledge of HRIS systems such as SAP, ServiceNow, or SuccessFactors.Technical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).Experience with SAP, ServiceNow, and SuccessFactors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
