We are seeking an experienced Claims Litigation Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will analyze cases to determine facts, develop legal theories and strategies, identify potential exposure, develop, and implement discovery plans, and prepare for court proceedings. This is a hybrid position, with responsibilities including both managing a large caseload with minimal supervision, and providing legal opinions, advice, and guidance to management and Claims personnel.
Responsibilities:
Analyze cases to determine all pertinent facts and develop legal theories/strategies in the defense of lawsuits.
Identify potential exposure to policyholders or the Exchange.
Develop and implement appropriate discovery plan and motions, as needed.
Prepare for, attend, and defend all court proceedings related to cases, including trials and arbitrations.
Regularly communicate with policyholders and claims representatives regarding case developments
Prepare and present legal opinions on claims issues.
Participate in negotiation and settlement of cases with outside parties/entities.
Provide assistance in handling other attorneys’ files as needed.
Prepare and present training programs for attorneys and Claims staff.
Requirements:
JD degree from accredited law school
Licensed to practice law.
5+ years of litigation experience
Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct day-to-day supervision.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$142,300.00 - $189,200.00Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
