How you will create impact

The Claims IT Platform Director – GenAI oversees end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives across multiple business applications and/or mid-sized programs in the Claims space. This leader will be responsible for successfully planning, executing, and delivering technology projects that align with claims business objectives while managing cross-functional teams.


What you need to know

Knowledge of Claims Processing: Success in this role requires a deep understanding of Claims processes, systems, and pain points, paired with the ability to drive scalable technology change.

Cross Functional Skill-set: Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Claims Operations, and Claims business leaders to define priorities, gather requirements, and deliver impactful solutions.

Strategic Project Execution: Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technology initiatives on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards. Develops delivery roadmaps that align with enterprise technology strategy and business objectives.

Team Leadership: Builds, mentors, and leads high-performing cross-functional delivery teams that may span multiple geographies. Creates a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, providing clear direction and removing barriers to success.

Stakeholder Management: Establishes strong relationships with business stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicating project status, managing expectations, and ensuring solutions meet business requirements. Acts as the bridge between technical teams and business partners.

Delivery Methodology: Champions appropriate delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches) based on project requirements and organizational context. Implements best practices and governance frameworks that optimize delivery outcomes.

What we’re looking for

Scope and Impact:

- Manages end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives spanning either operations or technology

- Key contributor to strategy governance, standards, processes, and practices

- Drives business value through successful project implementation either in operations or in technology

Problem Solving:

- Identifies and resolves complex delivery challenges that may span multiple teams or systems

- Leverages expert problem-solving skills to remove obstacles to project success

- Creates innovative solutions to unclear situations utilizing deep delivery expertise

Autonomy and Decision Making:

- Makes strategic decisions regarding project scope, resource allocation, and risk mitigation

- Decision-making authority extends across cross-functional teams spanning business, technology and operation stakeholders

- Sets priorities and sequences work to achieve business objectives with minimal oversight

Leadership:

- Demonstrated success managing competing priorities in high-visibility, fast-paced environments

- Provides expertise in planning, developing, and executing initiatives either across operations or technology

- Provides guidance and support to junior-level team members and peers

Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and automated frameworks

- Experience with requirement management tools such as Rally, Jenkins and workflow management tools like ServiceNow

- Working knowledge of GenAI, cloud computing paradigms, enterprise integration, and agile delivery methodologies.

- Ability to interpret and translate technical architecture documents and designs into actionable delivery plans

- Knowledge with cloud platforms (AWS)

Knowledge Expertise:

- Deep understanding of Claims business processes and familiarity with carriers of similar scale and complexity like AIG.

- Comprehensive knowledge of project and program management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches

- Experience with system development life cycle management, IT services management, and delivery frameworks

- Deep knowledge of resource management, capacity planning, and team optimization techniques

- Experience implementing delivery metrics, retrospectives, and continuous improvement processes

Education and Years of Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, project management, related field of study, or equivalent experience; with required years of experience.

- 15+ years in technology delivery, with at least 5 years in leadership positions managing complex technology initiatives.
