Claims Assistant
Job Title: Claims AssistantJob Description The Claims Assistant is responsible for providing quality warranty registration and handling of low to medium-complexity roofing claims from the first notice of loss through resolution and the payment process. This role involves significant interaction with homeowners, roofers, distributors, and sales via phone and email, gathering essential information and reports for warranty claims. The Claims Assistant also provides administrative support to the Claims Manager and Specialist and must direct claims above their authority as necessary. High attention to detail and exceptional phone skills are crucial for dealing with difficult situations professionally. Additional responsibilities include processing payments, answering technical questions, and redirecting calls to appropriate resources. Responsibilities + Adhere to company policies, including safety and use of personal protective equipment. + Work with the Warranty Claims Manager to meet customer needs. + Return improperly completed warranty claims forms for correction. + Review and validate incoming claims, warranty registration, and transfer information. + Maintain records of all claims submitted, returned/rejected, or paid and their current status. + Evaluate claim validity and apply the terms of the applicable warranty or policy. + Settle claims within authority directly with roofers, homeowners, and distributors. + Review and process all warranty claims and track each claim to resolution. + Process warranty registrations in a timely manner. + Contact appropriate parties regarding claims requiring special assistance. + Establish and maintain positive relationships with sales representatives, roofing contractors, and distributors. + Collaborate with IT to improve process flow based on claims information. + Work on analysis and claims reports for management, coordinating with the director of quality. Essential Skills + Strong customer service skills. + Capability of handling difficult situations and diverse people. + High attention to detail. + Proficiency in data entry. + Experience with MS Office is required. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with CRMs is preferred. + Knowledge of roofing is a plus. + Associates Degree or higher is highly preferred. + Experience with Google Suite is preferred, primarily for emails. Work Environment The position offers a 100% fully remote work setup, with a requirement to visit the Portland office on the first day to collect a laptop and equipment. The work schedule is a day shift from Monday to Friday, with the option to work from 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
