Claims and Denials Specialist
Description We are looking for a skilled Claims and Denials Specialist to join our team in Oakland, California. In this Contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting the insurance authorization process, managing claims, and addressing denials effectively. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong administrative and communication skills to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Responsibilities: • Process insurance authorizations efficiently to ensure timely approval for medical services. • Handle inbound calls from patients, insurance providers, and healthcare professionals with professionalism and accuracy. • Investigate and manage claims denials, including identifying root causes and initiating appeals. • Maintain and update calendars for scheduling appointments, authorizations, and related tasks. • Verify medical insurance coverage and eligibility for patients. • Post payments accurately and reconcile insurance claims to ensure proper documentation. • Coordinate with home health teams to address claims-related issues and ensure compliance with insurance requirements. • Prepare detailed reports on denials, appeals, and payment statuses to support decision-making. • Provide administrative assistance, including document preparation and data entry, to streamline operations. • Collaborate with team members to improve processes related to claims and insurance denials.
