SummaryAre you ready to take on moderately complex assignments with the ability to work independently? Join our team as an Adjuster of Claims! You will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement or resolution of work-related injuries under the terms of specific state workers' compensation laws.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct Investigations: Evaluate the payment or denial of workers' compensation claims.Administer Benefits: Timely and correctly administer appropriate workers' compensation benefits.Direct Outside Experts: Retain and direct attorneys, private investigators, and medical case managers.Pursue Recoveries: Evaluate potential subrogation claims and aggressively pursue recovery.Negotiate Settlements: Negotiate settlements when appropriate.Documentation: Maintain a complete, accurate, and self-sustaining record in the claim file for current and future reference.Adhere to Best Practices: Maintain the company's best practice policy.This position will have reserve authority over $10,000 and settlement authority over $10,000 as determined after training and approval by the VP of Claims. Confidentiality is key, and you must handle all information in a professional manner.
RequirementsEducation:College degree or equivalent experience.Experience:2 plus years of progressive experience preferred.Computer Skills:Requires standard computer skills.Communication Skills:Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Special Skills:Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations pertaining to workers' compensation claims handling.Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Supervisory:NoneTravel:1-5 domestic trips per yearJoin our dynamic team and make a significant impact through your expertise and dedication.
