Scope

The Chubb North American Marine team services several business units within Chubb with diverse books of business involving recreational marine, ocean marine and inland marine.  This position manages pending inventory and daily workflow of incoming claims while ensuring high customer service levels and compliance with best practices are being met.  The claim profiles range from recreational marine including mega yacht, yacht boat, marina property and boat dealer exposures. 

Responsibilities:

Interpret and apply policy contract coverage on simple to complex matters.  Analyze first reports to determine nature, cause, and extent of loss. Promptly and properly develop the claim file to provide accurate and timely investigations and loss analysis. Maintain an active diary to achieve timely development of file. Timely claim disposition. Recognize recovery where possible. Adhere to all statutory regulations and unfair claim practices acts. Effectively communicate with all internal and external customers. Direct, manage, and supervise surveyors, investigators, experts, and attorneys subject to established guidelines and procedures.  Overnight Travel: < 25%

 

 

2-4 years of claims experience. A background in marine surveying, recreational marine claims adjudication or an understanding of marine (boat & yacht) repairs is preferred, but not required. Candidate should have required adjusting licenses or be able to obtain the appropriate licensing. High level of competency with common workplace computer technology – e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required. Advanced level of demonstrated knowledge and skill in the following areas: investigation techniques; written and verbal communication related to claims handling; insurance contracts; legal requirements and regulations; damage and/or loss evaluation; negotiations; industry trends; litigation procedures, reserving, and time management skills.
