CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Help organize, supervise, monitor and control the quality of  the structural detailing & BOQ verification and optimization of tower audit projects. Prepare RAG status and Daily progress reports for tower audits and tower strengthening. Perform structural engineering and design verification for several simultaneous projects such as TLVA/PLVA audits, New Tower Designs, Own built design verification and audits etc. Develop new solutions for critically loaded sites. Provide detailed structural engineering calculations and analysis of self-supporting towers, guyed masts, and monopoles. Provide reinforced concrete design for the tower foundations on ground based and rooftop sites. Communicate and interact directly with project managers, structural engineers and contractors to gather required information, verify the standards used, etc. Coordinate assigned project drafting / design work with CAD designers. Out of the box thinking and brainstorming sessions for process and guidelines development.

 

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES

Should possess competency of handling a team of atleast 10 team of Structural designers & Draftpersons. Must be willing to work cross-functionally with multiple project teams. Highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn in a fast paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, with various departments, clients and partners.  Experience with oral presentations on a technical level is desired. Attention to detail to ensure that calculations and drawings are checked for completeness, accuracy, and legibility. Possess technical leadership skills in supervising, coordinating and directing others to meet established project requirements. Read and understand building codes, construction specifications and drawings.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION & CERTIFICATIONS

Degree qualified in Structural Engineering with 7-10 years cognate experience in structural analysis including at least 3 years of experience in the Telecom tower industry. Must be skilled in the use of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project (optional) and MS Visio Should be certified in at least one each of the Structural Analysis and Design Software for steel and concrete. Example: ETABS, MS Tower, PLS Tower, STAAD PRO, RISA etc. STAAD Foundation  (Foundation Design Software) Mastering the following industry standards : EIA/TIA-222-G and related American standards for steel design and wind load calculations. IS:456, IS: 800, IS:802, IS:801, IS:875 part-3, IS:2911, IS:1904. Strong experience in geotechnical soil analysis and SBC reports audits.
