Supports the Civil Rights team by coordinating the receipt, investigation, and resolution of discrimination in service delivery cases and oversees the data collection and management for the Civil Rights team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates the receipt, investigation, and resolution of low-moderate acuity discrimination in service delivery cases.Collects and manages team data.Generates quarterly and annual reports to be shared with all levels of leadership.Assists in the implementation of enterprise projects, workgroups, and committees as assigned.Provides consultation on simple Civil Rights matters to teammates and leaders.Identifies strategic ways in which the civil rights team can streamline workflows, and processes.Collaborates with civil rights leadership, legal, human resources, compliance, risk, and patient safety to respond to complaints and grievances.Builds relationships with leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure comprehension and alignment of the Civil Rights Compliance InitiativeSupports overall system Civil Rights Compliance Initiative.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Level of Education: Bachelor's degree in health care administration or related field.
Years of Experience: 2 years in in healthcare (clinical or administrative) or health law, and Federal or State Civil Rights laws.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Strong organizational skills and ability to collect and manage civil rights enterprise data and create quarterly and annual reports to update key leaders on civil rights metrics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong skills in personal diplomacy with demonstrated ability to handle sensitive discussion with patients and their family members, physicians, leadership, and legal counsel.Ability to respectfully exhibit courage.Ability to research applicable laws and regulations.Ability to utilize critical and creative thinking in navigating complex multicultural issues and quickly shift topics.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to recommend enhancements and process improvements.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
