Job Description: The Civil Rights Investigator conducts timely, objective, and thorough investigations of discrimination, harassment, and other claims filed with the office of Civil Rights Compliance involving faculty, staff, and students, including Title IX claims of alleged sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct. The Civil Rights Investigator is responsible for all aspects of the investigation process. As needed, the Civil Rights Investigator serves as a university-appointed advisor or hearing panel member. Additionally, the Civil Rights Investigator responds to requests for religious and pregnancy accommodations and to complaints related to other university policies and processes under the purview of the office of Civil Rights Compliance. Job Responsibilities Include: + Conduct investigations of allegations against faculty, staff, and students reported under University Policy 03.004: Sexual Harassment and Other Sexual Misconduct, including developing an investigation plan; identifying relevant parties, witnesses, and evidence; interviewing parties and witnesses; writing a clear, thorough, and unbiased investigative report; managing administrative tasks related to the sexual misconduct hearing process; and other related duties. + Conduct investigations of allegations against faculty, staff, and students reported under University Policy 40.001: Nondiscrimination in Education and Employment, including developing an investigation plan; identifying relevant parties, witnesses, and evidence; interviewing parties and witnesses; writing a clear, thorough, and unbiased investigative report; managing administrative tasks related to the hearing process; and other related duties. + Conduct investigations or otherwise respond to complaints or requests related to University Policies 03.003 and 01.041, pregnancy and religious accommodations, and other university policies and processes under the purview of Civil Rights Compliance. + As needed, serve as a university-appointed advisor for sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct grievance process cases or a hearing panel member for cases under the purview of Civil Rights Compliance.
