Job Title: Civil Project Manager Job Description
As a Civil Project Manager, you will manage waste management and diversion projects, coordinating with clients, regulators, contractors, and team members. You will be responsible for preparing budgets, schedules, invoices, and project deliverables, mentoring and assigning tasks to team members, and ensuring deadlines are met. Building and maintaining strong client relationships is crucial, as is communicating project updates and addressing client concerns. You will collaborate with regulators to ensure project compliance and lead staff for professional growth, reviewing and approving their work.
Responsibilities
+ Manage waste management and diversion projects.
+ Coordinate with clients, regulators, contractors, and team members.
+ Prepare budgets, schedules, invoices, and project deliverables.
+ Mentor and assign tasks to team members, ensuring deadlines are met.
+ Build and maintain strong client relationships.
+ Communicate project updates and address client concerns.
+ Collaborate with regulators for project compliance.
+ Lead and mentor staff for professional growth.
+ Review and approve team members' work.
+ Prepare and review calculations, reports, and design documents.
+ Develop waste diversion strategies and sustainable materials management.
+ Conduct quality control reviews of reports, design plans, and data analysis.
+ Support environmental sampling, monitoring, and construction quality assurance.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Geological, or Biological Systems Engineering, or a related field.
+ 6+ years in engineering or environmental consulting, with a focus on waste diversion, landfill design, permitting, or sustainable materials management.
+ P.E. registration or ability to obtain within one year is highly preferred.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
+ Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
+ Technical proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office is preferred.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform fieldwork as needed.
+ Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Project management experience is preferred but not required.
+ Experience in solid waste and landfill gas management.
+ Ability to mentor and lead a team effectively.
Work Environment
The role involves working on projects related to waste management facilities, landfills, and recycling. You will work from the Naperville office with a close-knit team of five other individuals, focusing on client care and professional growth. The office culture is supportive and invested in your development, with flexibility to work from home two days a week. This position is open as part of efforts to grow presence in the Illinois market. This is a Contract position based out of Naperville, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.53 - $62.98/hr.
