Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity 
 
In this varied role, you will lead and motivate your crew to carry out civil construction works across the Taranaki region. Reporting to the project supervisor, you will be expected to be involved in but not limited too 

the planning, organising and execution of civil construction activities such as bulk earthworks/ pavement construction / Concrete and kerb preparation /retaining structures. 3 waters experience been desirable. 
 
Duties Within Your Team Include 

Working ‘hands-on’ to ensuring tasks are completed to the satisfaction of the customer, to a high quality and within program. 

Ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies and equipment managing resources effectively with the wider team. 

Providing and organising on-the-job development/training for the team and supporting general career development. 

Drive health and safety within daily project activities maintaining the Downer standard. 

We are a small and close-knit team and collaboration is key! During your down time, you will be required to help other work teams with their workload.

 

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills 

You will have 5 years minimum experience Within The Civil Construction Industry, Ideally As a Foreperson Or Leading Hand. You’ll Couple This With 

A Full Class 2 Drivers Licence (essential) - WTR endorsements would be advantageous 

A focus and passion for keeping people and the environment safe 

The ability to drive projects, managing relationships and activity to achieve targets (deadlines, costing, resourcing etc.) 

Must be self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and results-orientated with an ability to problem solve, plan, listen and make decisions.
