Grow with us, H2O+U. **Your Opportunity** Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist to join our highly successful water practice in British Columbia. This is an exciting opportunity for an applicant looking to gain experience in a heavy civil construction environment. The role is site-based on a major watermain project located in Coquitlam, BC. Training will be provided for the successful candidate. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Complete construction inspections to ensure construction activities meet specifications and industry standards + Assist in monitoring and managing construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. + Administration of construction submittal review process, document control, review and assistance with construction change orders + Prepare progress reports, work summaries or other written documentation + Maintain project site reports, daily field logs, and progress updates for project records. + Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other officials -to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner. + Meet with clients, municipal officials, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions. + Contribute to the management of the project’s materials sampling and testing requirements. + Support an effective working relationship with our client’s, their contractors and other agencies **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Ability to work with others on large complex projects. + Knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, municipal design standards and design specifications such as Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) + Proficient in relevant software programs including AutoCAD, Civil3D and/or MicroStation Inroads, GIS, Auto Turn, Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, EPANET Water Modeling Software, Adobe Acrobat. + Effective written and verbal communication skills. + Experience on a heavy civil construction project site is considered an asset. + Be a self-motivated individual, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. + Willingness to work overtime in alignment with the construction contractor’s work schedule. **Education and Experience** + Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of + AScT designation and registered as a CTech or ability to obtain a CTech within 1 year. + Minimum of 0-3 year of experience. + Valid BC Driver’s License and a vehicle for site travel. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
