Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to support municipal infrastructure projects. This role involves assisting engineers in the planning, design, and inspection of public works projects such as roads, stormwater systems, water and sewer lines, and site development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, familiarity with municipal standards, and a commitment to improving community infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare engineering drawings, maps, and plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design softwareAssist in the design and layout of municipal infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and utilitiesConduct field surveys, site inspections, and data collection to support project developmentReview construction plans and specifications for compliance with local codes and standardsProvide technical support during bidding, permitting, and construction phasesMaintain project documentation, records, and reports for internal and public useCoordinate with contractors, utility companies, and other municipal departmentsSupport GIS mapping and asset management initiatives as neededQualificationsAssociate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field2–4 years of experience in civil engineering or public works projectsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and GIS softwareKnowledge of municipal design standards, construction practices, and regulatory requirementsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamValid driver’s license and ability to conduct fieldwork in various weather conditionsPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00/hr.
