This position involves working collaboratively with design teams in the development of construction plans and specifications; preparing reports, studies, and construction contract documents; computing quantities and preparing cost estimates; performing field observations and assisting in the coordination and management of construction activities. Stantec also provides employees with a 401(k) and company match plan, a comprehensive health benefits package, competitive salaries, flexible scheduling, and generous time-off with paid holiday and vacation time carry-over programs. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Perform civil design and technical tasks on projects under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Engineer. + Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project. + Perform field work/construction observation under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer and/or construction manager. + Perform data analysis and calculations to analyze and design civil system components. + Collect data and gathering information to support design decisions. + Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices. + Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure reliability, resource efficiency and cost effectiveness. + Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written, with project team members, clients, and contractors. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Seeking a motivated individual who is, enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, organized, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. + Basic understanding of general concepts of civil engineering design. + Ability and interest in working on a variety of renewables (solar, wind, etc.) type of projects for various clients. + Desire to work on projects with a focus on sustainability and green infrastructure. + Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. + Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs and other similar materials. + Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction. + Strong interest in community development engineering disciplines. + Proficient with of Microsoft Office Suite and basic understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D. + Must have good driving record, and valid driver’s license. **Education and Experience** Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and successful completion of the EIT exam or the ability to take the EIT exam within six months of starting preferred.
