About being a Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development\/Public Works\n
As a Civil Engineer Designer (CED), supporting our Civil Engineering Team in our San Diego, CA office at Psomas, you'll utilize your education and experience to contribute to work performed on a variety of site development and public works projects while working in a team-oriented setting and interacting with clients. The San Diego Civil Engineering team is a dynamic group with a mixture of seasoned engineers and emerging professionals who work collaboratively. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting, impactful and high-profile projects that prioritize public benefit, safety, accessibility, and sustainability. \n

Responsibility Highlights for Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development\/Public Works\n\nCollaborate with a project team on a broad range of projects in both private and public development. \nAssist with design of grading\/drainage; earthwork analysis; street improvements; water, sewer, and storm drain utility systems; stormwater quality treatment measures; demolition plans; and site plan development using AutoCAD and Civil3D software\nUnder supervision, prepare technical reports, including hydraulics, hydrology, water\/sewer\/drainage calculations; cost\/quantity estimates; and specifications\nSupport other team members as needed\nPerform field verifications and participate in site visits and meetings\n\n

Minimum Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development\/Public Works\n\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university\nMinimum of 1+ years of experience in civil engineering and design \nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and proficiency in MS Office Suite\nDemonstrate an organized work approach and willingness to ask questions\nAbility to adapt with changing priorities\nSelf-motivated to work on individual tasks and in a team environment\nMust be able to communicate with verbal and written clarity\n\n

Preferred Qualifications for our Civil Engineer Designer - Site Development\/Public Works\n\nEIT Certification (or can obtain within 2 years of hire)\nKnowledge of stormwater quality and SWPPP\nExperience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software\n\n
