Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Designer to design and prepare engineering documents for specific components of projects including storm water management design, sediment erosion control, storm drain design and computations, WSSC water and sewer design, grade establishment plans, maintenance of traffic plans, and right-of-way improvement plans. You will manage standard to routine design tasks, perform technical calculations, supervise and coordinate the work of Design Engineers and Technicians, and work independently to generate expected results. Additionally, you will coordinate efforts with clients, agencies, various departments, Engineering, and other consultants.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and prepare engineering documents for storm water management, sediment erosion control, and storm drain design.Manage standard design tasks, perform technical calculations, and run reports.Supervise and review the work of Design Engineers and Technicians.Work independently on assignments to achieve expected results.Coordinate efforts with clients, agencies, and various departments.Essential SkillsProficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.At least 3 years of experience working with Civil 3D on Land Development Projects.Strong technical proficiency in all aspects of civil engineering including roadways, grading, stormwater management, erosion control, water distribution, and sanitary sewer design.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS degree in Civil Engineering.Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering.Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or working towards it within the next year preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Work Environment
This role offers a flexible work environment with the opportunity to work three days in the office of your choice, pending approval. You will be part of a reputable firm with over 50 years of history, working on projects such as K-12, light commercial, and industrial. The team is close-knit, often participating in company outings, and consists of approximately 250 people across three offices located in DC, Northern Virginia, and Germantown, MD.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
