We are the Credit Risk CIO team. An ensemble of highly motivated individuals who own the Credit Risk Decision IT systems.  These systems provide core and critical functions and data to Risk, Sales, Customer servicing, Underwriting, Modelling, MI, Regulatory reporting, and Analytics applications throughout the Bank.

Our services span across Retail and Corporate customers covering almost every product range. Our suite of applications includes components built in-house and proprietary third-party software from well know providers using a wide range of technology.

The difference you’ll make:

Supporting in the development and execution of strategies for the specific IT domain in alignment with overall organisational goals and objectives.

Identifying emerging technologies and trends relevant to the domain and assessing their potential to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Managing the people, financial and technological resources within the domain to ensure optimal performance and alignment with organisational priorities.

Collaborating with business leaders, department heads and other stakeholders to understand their technology needs and priorities and provide strategic guidance and support.

Establishing policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards within the domain.

Overseeing the portfolio of projects within the domain, prioritising initiatives, allocating resources and monitoring progress to ensure successful delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.

Monitoring and evaluating the performance of IT systems, applications, and services within the domain, identifying areas for improvement.

Managing relationships with external vendors, service providers and technology partners to ensure effective collaboration, delivery of services and value to Santander.

Identifying and assessing risks related to the domain’s operations, technology infrastructure and projects implementing measures to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.

Attracting, retaining, and developing talent within the domain, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

What you’ll bring:

Experience in leading and managing IT team with ability to Plan & Organize, manage multiple priorities, take ownership, cross team integration.

Proficient and have extensive experience in SDLC, Waterfall & Agile methodologies.

Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and able to manage stakeholders at all levels.

Project Management skills with ability to provide inputs in planning, estimation and status reporting.

It would also be nice for you to have:

Credit Risk function background and knowledge

Monitor/review budgets

Promotes and encourages good culture and behaviours personally and across the Team, in line with I AM Risk.

Identifies, assesses, manages, and reports risks, taking proactive personal responsibility for ‘doing the right thing’ in compliance with regulatory requirements and our frameworks and policies.

What else you need to know:

This role is based in Unity Place, Milton Keynes.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For part-time / contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your working hours / contract duration.

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus

We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.

30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year
