CIC Tax Analyst
Description

The Tax Analyst will report to the CIC Senior Finance and New Product Development Manager and will be primarily responsible to:

Review partnership tax returns and related reports and analysesEvaluating and understanding of complex tax topicsCoordinate communication and tracking of direct, multi-investor, and proprietary investment tax returns as they are received for low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC), historic tax credit (HTC) and other tax credit transactionsWorks with the Huntington Tax Team to understand annual state and federal tax liabilities and proposes the appropriate amount of tax credits that CIC could deliver to offset.Explores and communicates various ways to offset Huntington’s state tax credit liabilities.Ensures proper accounting and tracking of K-1’s.Responsible for annual renewals of business licenses and new registrationsAssist in special projects as they ariseDemonstrate strong stewardship over Huntington’s financial and community impact interests internally and in the communities where we investRepresent the Bank at industry events and participate in industry leading discussions, including policy

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university2+ years of tax experience2+ years of LIHTC experience

Preferred Qualifications

Finance, accounting, or business degree preferredTechnical knowledge of the LIHTC programStrong understanding of partnership taxation, understanding of financial models, and basic accountingKnowledge of state tax credits and New Markets Tax CreditsAbility to prioritize workload and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail / accuracyBeginning knowledge of limited partnership agreements and loan documentsSelf-motivated and independentExcellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening)Proficient in Excel
