Chubb Life Global Office: Senior Sourcing Manager - IT Category (12 month FTC)

The Senior Sourcing Manager - IT Category will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of hardware, software, infrastructure and IT services across the organization. This position will report to the Head of Procurement and Sourcing and will function as a global role responsible for managing procurement activities related to IT categories at both regional and local levels.

The ideal candidate must possess a strategic mindset, along with proven expertise in category strategy development, cost-saving initiatives, strategic sourcing (including RFP processes), supplier negotiations, and contract management. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills are essential. A thorough understanding of the technology industry is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive category strategies for IT categories that align with the organization’s goals and procurement objectives. Cost Saving Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement throughout the sourcing and procurement process, ensuring maximum value is achieved. Supplier Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions while managing contracts effectively to enhance performance and compliance. Strategic Sourcing: Develop and manage strategic sourcing initiatives, including Request for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring alignment with business needs and stakeholder expectations. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, compliance, and operations, to ensure sourcing strategies address organizational needs and align with strategic goals. Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments to inform sourcing decisions and enhance competitive positioning. Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier performance and ensure alignment with service level agreements (SLAs). Change Management: Effectively manage the transition and integration of new suppliers or IT solutions into existing frameworks, ensuring a smooth change process. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure sourcing practices comply with regulatory requirements applicable to the banking and insurance industries while effectively managing associated risks. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare and deliver presentations for senior management that outline sourcing strategies, performance metrics, and improvement recommendations.
  Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA is a plus. 5-7 years of experience in IT sourcing and procurement within the banking or insurance industries. Effective communication/working relationships with the local market teams (both Technology and Procurement in all levels)  Proven track record of achieving cost savings and driving strategic sourcing initiatives, with strong skills in supplier negotiation and contract management. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for developing and executing effective category strategies. Strong stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization. Deep understanding of the hardware and IT infrastructure category, including industry trends and emerging technologies. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a significant advantage. Familiarity with compliance regulations and best practices in sourcing within financial services.
