Scope of Position
The primary focus of the Chinese Business Development Manager (CBDM) is to identify, develop, and secure new business from Chinese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese companies with manufacturing operations in the North of Vietnam. The role is centered on achieving results that are aligned with the overall organization and its strategic goals. Initiative, a strong sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions are key to achieving the performance objectives of this role.
The CBDM will orchestrate the involvement of multiple people in our sales process to consistently secure new customer revenue for our district office and the wider Expeditors network. The job environment is flexible and constantly changing, providing significant opportunity for growth, recognition, and reward for the achievement of business results.
Key Responsibilities
These are the minimum results expected from a successful Chinese Business Development Manager:
Target and manage a portfolio of Chinese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese companies in Northern Vietnam, demonstrating extensive knowledge of potential customers and their competitors.Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, utilizing timely data entry in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, collaborating with internal regional Product, Service, and Geo resources to deliver effective solutions.Participate in the creation of value-added solutions for customers' logistics needs, including the development of supporting diagrams and cost-benefit calculations.Support the smooth transition of new accounts through customer introductions, effective information transfer, and securing all necessary customer paperwork.Actively participate in local Chinese, Taiwanese, and Hong Kong business associations and trade groups as directed by the District Sales Manager.Attend ongoing training and development sessions to enhance selling skills and maintain up-to-date Expeditors Product and Service knowledge.When needed, provide support for Accounts Receivable (AR) collection.Take on additional assignments as required to support company needs.QualificationsDesired Skillsets and Characteristics
Oral and written proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is essential. Proficiency in Cantonese is a strong advantage.Oral and written proficiency in the English language.Deep understanding of Chinese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese business culture and etiquette.Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably within the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.The ability to meet with customers off-site on a regular basis.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.Strong rapport and relationship-building focus, particularly within the target business community.Extroverted, confident, enthusiastic, and persuasive.A sense of urgency for goal achievement and accountability for results.Ability to work productively both individually and in a team environment.Additional InformationExpeditors offers excellent benefits:
