Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesThe China Trade Compliance & Customs Manager is a key role within Forvia’s global Trade Compliance & Customs (TCC) function, responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities in China fully comply with applicable laws and regulations, including customs management, export controls, and economic sanctions.
This role not only oversees local compliance operations but also collaborates closely with the Group TCC team to implement global compliance strategies in China, mitigate regulatory risks, enhance operational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all trade compliance and customs operations in China;Ensure full compliance with Chinese trade, customs, export control, and sanctions regulations;Develop and implement local trade compliance policies and procedures aligned with Faurecia’s global standards;Assess and establish a robust local trade compliance and customs framework, continuously improving systems, processes, and policies;Act as the primary liaison with Chinese customs and other regulatory authorities;Monitor and interpret changes in Chinese and global trade regulations, assess business impact, and develop response strategies;Provide compliance support and training to business units, supply chain, legal, and finance teams, and advise on complex compliance issues;Manage customs brokers and third-party logistics providers to ensure service quality and compliance;Lead or participate in compliance risk assessments, internal investigations, and audits, and drive corrective and continuous improvement actions;Support the implementation of the Internal Compliance Program (ICP) in China in coordination with the Group;Prepare for and respond to government audits, internal audits, and regulatory inquiries;Oversee documentation and reporting required for corporate import/export operations;Support trade compliance due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in China;Collaborate with the Group TCC team to localize and execute global trade compliance strategies in China.Your profile and competencies to succeedRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, Law, Logistics, or a related field;Minimum of 10 years of experience in trade compliance or customs management, preferably in a multinational company or the automotive industry;Familiarity with customs regulations and trade policies of major countries;Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills;Proven experience working with government authorities, customs, and third-party service providers;Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong time management and organizational skills;Proficiency in compliance management systems and ERP platforms;Fluency in English; proficiency in other Asian languages is a plus;High sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and strong cross-cultural communication skills.What we can do for you At Forvia, you will find an engaging and dynamic environment where you can contribute to the development of sustainable mobility leading technologies.
