This position is eligible for a $500 bonus!   We are looking for caring and energetic Childcare Teachers to join our team at our childcare center in Ames! 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday only. These individuals will contribute to a positive, nurturing environment that is safe, clean and organized for the children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years. Teacher Assistants will also encourage children’s overall development through appropriate play-based activities and by working collaboratively with families.

What You’ll Do    Provide routine care for infants and/or children including diaper changing/assistance with personal cares, hygiene and hand washing, serving meals and snacks.Maintain children's safety by providing constant supervision in compliance with staff/child ratio requirements and utilizing name to face attendance log.  Consistently assess and monitor children’s general health and report concerns to supervisor and family as appropriate.  Complete tasks to maintain a clean, organized and safe environment indoors and outdoors.Maintain and support a structured environment and routine according to Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports strategies.Provide exceptional customer service to families Documentation - Complete documentation accurately and according to established deadlines.Arrive on time and attend assigned training sessions, staff meetings and annual staff development training.Benefits that Work for You!Comprehensive Health Coverage – Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement Planning – 403(b) retirement plan with up to a 50% employer match.Paid Time Off – Generous PTO that accrues from the first day.Loan Relief – Eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.What You’ll Need    Ability to pass a ChildServe physical examination at commencement of employment and thereafter as regulations require.Ability to lift up to 35lbs, be mobile within the classroom and playground areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.Ability to become certified in First Aide, CPR, Mandatory Reporter, Standard Precautions and DHS Pre-Service Essential training within 90 days of hire. Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.High School diploma or GED is requiredExperience providing care and supervision for children preferredThis position may be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements.
