Child Care Student Associate JobID: 367 + Position Type: Student Support Services/ Early Childhood + Date Posted: 6/19/2025 + Location: Ekstrand Elementary + Date Available: School Year 2025-26 TITLE:Child Care Student Associate REPORTS TO:Child Care Director/Site Supervisor Position Purpose: The Child Care Student Associate plays an important supporting role within the child care learning environment. Under the guidance of the Site Supervisor, the Student Associate helps create a caring, safe, and engaging classroom for young children. This position is ideal for individuals interested in exploring a future career in education or child development. The Student Associate assists with daily routines, interacts positively with children and families, and helps implement developmentally appropriate activities. Key Responsibilites: + Support the Site Supervisor and center staff in maintaining a safe, caring, and organized environment. + Assist with classroom routines including meals, transitions, rest time, and play. + Interact positively with children, engaging in developmentally appropriate activities and conversations. + Assist in implementing classroom activities that support learning through play, exploration, and discovery. + Model respectful, inclusive, and supportive interactions with children and peers. + Communicate effectively with staff and follow directions to support the classroom’s success. + Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. + Participate in training or professional learning opportunities as directed. Qualifications: + High school student with an interest in early childhood education, child development, or a related field. + Experience working with young children (babysitting, volunteering, etc.) preferred but not required. + Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn. + Ability to follow instructions and contribute as a reliable member of a team. + Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and adults. + Must meet any applicable state or district requirements for student workers in early learning settings.
