TITLE:Child Care Site Supervisor
REPORTS TO:Child Care Director
Position Purpose:
The Child Care Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of the child care program at an assigned site. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality care in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. The Site Supervisor leads and supports staff, manages site operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters positive relationships with families, staff, and the school community.
Key Responsibilites:
+ Oversee the daily operations of the child care site, maintaining a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children and staff.
+ Supervise, support, and provide feedback to child care staff, including Classroom Coordinator, Student Associates, and other team members.
+ Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and district policies.
+ Coordinate daily staffing and ensure proper child-to-staff ratios are maintained at all times.
+ Support the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities in collaboration with staff.
+ Promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of all children in the program.
+ Maintain strong, respectful relationships with families through regular communication and responsive problem-solving.
+ Monitor attendance, enrollment, and required documentation to support site operations and reporting.
+ Maintain accurate records related to licensing, staff training, incidents, and child development observations.
+ Lead regular site staff meetings and collaborate with the Program Director to facilitate professional learning.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for the child care site and work in partnership with building administration as needed.
Qualifications:
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
+ Minimum of two years of experience working in an early childhood or school-age care setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
+ Eligible for employment under standards prescribed by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
+ Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood licensing regulations.
+ Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to foster a positive team culture and guide staff development.
+ CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
+ Must meet all state and local requirements for child care supervisory roles.
