Child Care Classroom Coordinator JobID: 365 + Position Type: Student Support Services/ Early Childhood + Date Posted: 6/19/2025 + Location: Ekstrand Elementary + Date Available: School Year 2025-26 TITLE:Child Care Classroom Coordinator REPORTS TO:Child Care Director/Site Supervisor Position Purpose: The Classroom Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children in the child care center. Working under the direction of the Site Supervisor and in collaboration with Student Associates, a Classroom Coordinator helps implement daily routines, supports developmentally appropriate activities, and assists in fostering strong, positive relationships with children and their families. Key Responsibilites: + Support the Site Supervisor and center staff in maintaining a safe, caring, and organized environment. + Assist in implementing planned educational activities and daily routines that promote learning and development. + Provide attentive supervision of children to ensure safety at all times. + Build positive, supportive relationships with children through respectful and responsive interactions. + Help maintain clean and organized classroom spaces, including toys, materials, and supplies. + Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, children, and families. + Model appropriate behavior and support social-emotional development. + Act as a consistent and reliable team member, stepping into a leadership support role when needed. + Participate in ongoing professional development and staff training. Qualifications: + Eligible for employment under standards prescribed by the Iowa Department of Human Services. + High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or experience in early childhood education preferred. + Previous experience working with young children in a group setting strongly preferred. + Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. + Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and take initiative when needed. + Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment for all children.
