The incumbent of this position will be responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of students, escorting students to and from activities, attending to students’ personal hygiene needs, assisting in the development of appropriate daily living skills, and providing supervision and assistance as necessary. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with students and staff, follow written and spoken instructions, and relate to the students being supervised. Candidates must be in good health, good physical condition, and able to perform moderate to heavy lifting of children and participate in physical activities.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who have:• An Associate’s Degree or higher in the Human Services field; • Experience as a Nurse’s Aide; • Skilled in sign language; • Experience in behavior modification, orientation and mobility; • Certification in water safety, CPR, first aid, advanced first aid, or EMT; and • Demonstrated skills working with the multiply disabled.Reassignment: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Child Care Aide 1.It is essential that candidates clearly and concisely indicate exactly how they meet the above minimum qualifications in their resume.
