Rate of Pay: $23.78 - $23.78 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits.

Hours of Work: Varies - as and when needed, including days, evenings and weekends  Programs include, but not limited to:  general day camps/professional development camps, crafts/arts, science and cooking.  Participants aged 0-18 years.

Summary

This position is responsible for planning, preparation, and delivery of a variety of children and youth community recreation programs including teen lounge, early years or specialized programs such as art or cooking. The successful applicant will play a role in planning and delivering engaging children and youth programs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Work with the Child and Youth Recreation Coordinator to plan, organize and deliver creative and age-appropriate recreational programs for children and youth.  Lead activities in areas such as arts, cooking, games, sports and social engagement. Foster a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all participants.  Set-up, take-down and monitor use of equipment. Act as a liaison between program participants, parents and Panorama staff. Ensures the safety and general well-being of the children and youth at all times.   Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD Performs other related duties as required. Additional Information None Key Skills & Abilities Experience delivering children's or youth recreation programs. Ability to plan and deliver engaging and inclusive activities. Ability to lead a variety of community recreation activities.  Leadership abilities including role model behaviors, demonstrated sound judgment, work independently while creating a positive, enthusiastic, safe and fun environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Knowledge and understanding of WorkSafeBC practices/protocols, Workers' Compensation Act and OHandS Regulations and other relevant safety statutes. Qualifications Some directly related experience Post-secondary courses in a related discipline Certifications Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
