It also plays the lead role in driving how Marriott responds to incidents, emergencies and crises. It has a primary focus on: + Strategic Security & Safety Leadership + Security & Safety Program Management and Operations + Executive Protection + Investigations + Crisis Management This leader takes a technology forward, data driven approach to predicting, assessing, mitigating and managing risks as it relates to safety and security. The position collaborates and partners with the CISO where there is an intersection with digital security (e.g., cybersecurity, data protection) and other relevant teams (e.g. hotel operations, engineering) to drive a cohesive and aligned approach to ensuring safety and security. This position also oversees the Company’s crisis management efforts in the event of crisis events at our properties and above-property locations globally. **Strategic Security Leadership:** + Provides progressive, strategic thought leadership for best practices in safety, security, threat protection, crisis management, and investigations. + Develops and implements security strategies, programs, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's physical assets, associates, customers and reputation, with influence spanning over the entirety of the portfolio of Marriott-branded properties. + Serves as the key advisor to the senior leadership team and board of directors on physical safety and security matters including counsel on executive protection, insider threat protection and crisis management. + Partners with leaders across global disciplines and continents to ensure alignment, consistency and pull through of the company’s safety and security strategy. + Through effective crisis management protocols, leads the strategy for and execution of the company’s response to safety and security incidents, partnering with the CISO and other leaders where necessary for a cohesive and aligned approach to crisis management. + Promotes a culture of safety and security awareness and compliance across and at all levels of the organization through thought leadership, talent development, training programs and awareness campaigns. **Safety & Security Operations:** + Serves as the global COE leader for physical safety and security, rooted in a data and intelligence driven approach to monitoring and detection. Sets the strategy and is ultimately accountable for physical safety and security measures including access control, surveillance and notification systems. + Provides both thought leadership and operational leadership for security/safety in our physical locations. Leads policy and program development that is pulled through across the organization / in continent. Ensures the organization and relevant talent have the right education for safety & security best practices, policies, and procedures. + Leads the teams and strategy for identification, assessment, and prioritization of physical security and safety risks. + Develops and maintains incident response plans and protocols to minimize impact and ensure timely resolution of security and safety incidents. Ensures crisis management plans at all levels, from property to the executive, remain relevant to the evolving threats and risks faced by the company. Leads periodic crisis management workshops/tabletop exercises. + Partners with the CISO, and other relevant teams where there is an intersection of physical and digital security (e.g., cybersecurity, data protection, insider threat management). **Executive Protection** + Manages the Executive Protection Program to ensure the safety and security of senior leaders. This includes leadership for the team that conducts risk assessments and threat analysis for travel, meetings, and events as well as the professionals or vendors who provide protection for relevant executives. + Leads relationship management efforts and coordinates with law enforcement, security agencies, and other relevant organizations in support of executive protection efforts. + As with broader company physical security/safety efforts, leads risk assessments and threat analyses related to executive protection efforts. Leverages data and intelligence to predict, monitor and analyze security trends and intelligence to proactively address potential threats. CANDIDATE PROFILE **Educational Qualifications & Certifications** + A bachelor's degree is required. Advanced degrees, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's in a relevant field preferred. + Active United States security clearance (Top Secret or TSSCI) is required. + Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO) certification preferred. **Professional Experience** + 15 or more years of experience that reflects: + Progressive growth and success in leading teams and complex operations in physical safety and security management, investigations and crisis management + Prior experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence and/or military agency that includes leadership for intelligence efforts to manage safety and security + Corporate leadership experience in a matrixed environment + Global experience that includes oversight for safety and security in a range of environments including high risk markets. The salary range for this position is $215,800 to $382,100 annually.
