About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished, visionary product leader to serve as our Chief Product Officer (CPO). In this high-profile role, you will report directly to the President and be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will oversee product strategy and execution across our three distinct business segments – Intellectual Property, Life Sciences, and Government – each with unique customer needs and product offerings. You’ll work in close partnership with the General Managers who lead each segment and collaborate closely with our CTO to jointly lead innovation and deliver transformative, AI-powered solutions to our customers and the broader innovation community. Your strong partnership with the business segment leaders will ensure our products align with market needs and drive commercial impact. You will own the entire product development lifecycle—from customer discovery through launch and beyond—driving strategic product development, innovation, and commercial success across a diverse portfolio. You will collaborate closely with our CTO to jointly lead innovation and deliver transformative, AI-powered solutions to our customers and the broader innovation community. Your strong partnership with the business segment leaders will ensure our products align with market needs and drive commercial impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Product Roadmap: Partnering with the segment leaders, defining and executing a unified product strategy and long-term roadmap across all product lines. Aligning this roadmap with business objectives and market needs and driving innovation to ensure competitive differentiation and market leadership.
Product Management & Leadership: Building, leading, and mentoring product management teams, instilling best practices and a customer-centric culture. Ensuring delivery excellence and high-quality execution throughout the PDLC and nurturing a high-performance environment that attracts and develops top product talent.
Market Analysis & Understanding: Monitoring market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape (including emerging technologies like AI) to inform product direction. Leveraging market research, user feedback, and industry insights to identify opportunities for innovation and to keep the product portfolio ahead of the curve.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with the CTO, segment leaders, and other departments (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Operations) to align product strategy with technology capabilities and go-to-market plans. Jointly owning the PDLC and SDLC with the CTO to ensure efficient, cohesive product development and delivery from concept through launch.
Product Performance & Analysis: Establishing and tracking key product performance indicators (KPIs) and using data-driven insights to guide decisions. Utilizing metrics and analytics (including DORA metrics for development performance) to measure success, drive continuous improvement in products and processes, and ensure accountability for results.
Product Evangelism: Serving as an internal and external champion for our product strategy. Articulating the product vision and value proposition clearly to all stakeholders, evangelizing our products’ benefits to clients and partners, and representing LexisNexis Reed Tech & IP Solutions at industry events as a thought leader and voice of our product strategy.
Stakeholder Management: Engaging with executive leadership, key clients, and strategic partners to communicate product plans, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business goals. Building strong relationships across a global, matrixed organization, and effectively influencing stakeholders at all levels to support product initiatives and investments.
Requirements
Proven experience in product management, with a track record of leading successful SaaS and data-driven product portfolios. Experience driving product innovation and growth at scale is essential.
Demonstrated mastery of modern product management principles and frameworks. Comfortable applying data and metrics to guide product and engineering performance.
Strong understanding of technology and software development processes; able to engage deeply with technologists and engineering leadership. Proven ability to collaborate with CTOs/technical teams to align product and technology roadmaps.
Passion for data-driven decision-making and analytics. Deep commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer-centric design with business objectives and revenue goals.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a global, matrixed environment.
Industry experience in Intellectual Property or Life Sciences domains is valued but not required. A genuine interest in the innovation and regulatory space is important.
