The Country GM COO role is a senior leadership role, partnering with Country Head of Global Markets to lead operational management and strategic execution for the GM Business.

Role Holder’ Responsibilities:

Has overall responsibility for managing and ensuring the operational continuity and resilience of the internal operations and technology, as taking the role of key MIG member for GM.Is responsible for ensuring that outsourcing is appropriate and can be properly overseen. The COO will undertake this responsibility within the matrix structure of the HSBCHASE Group and through the building and leveraging of the Vendor Management Capability overseeing Service Company delivery.Must provide management oversight and governance in compliance with Group policies and processes whenever locally applicable within the Geographic, also ensure that key governance mechanisms are in place and potential risks are identified and mitigated with the embedment of the right risk control culture.Must achieve and sustain compliance with Global FCC policies and procedures through implementation of AML / Sanctions policies and Global Standards.Has accountability for ensuring Geographic/Country compliance with all local regulatory and legal requirements, and effectively responding to changes and taking actions.Is accountable to the Country Head of GM, providing leadership in the execution of GM Business Strategies and Initiatives with all asset classes together, and in collaboration with Global Businesses/DBS/Global Functions through effective prioritization and implementation of transformation activities.Is accountable to the Country Head of GM, facilitating and supporting GM top team’s decision making by MI tools, data analytics and stakeholders’ feedback, etc…, also maintaining cost discipline cross all GM asset classes to contribute a positive JAWS.Is responsible for represent GM to participate in a variety of local and regional management meetings, forums or committees.Is responsible for promoting an open and healthy working environment, a high standard and strong risk control culture in GM and supporting a positive and comprehensive people agenda.
