Chief of Value Based Care

**Description**
The Role
Providence is seeking a visionary and collaborative Chief of Value-Based Care to lead transformative initiatives across our system to achieve superior quality, outcomes, and affordability. This executive will be responsible for designing and operationalizing strategies that support our transition to value-based models, ensuring alignment with risk-bearing entities and population health priorities, and working across care settings.
Leadership & Strategy
+ Lead the continuous evaluation and evolution of Providence’s value-based care strategy, focusing on accountable care, shared savings, bundled payments, and total cost of care performance.
+ Serve as the senior advisor for all value-based initiatives, including health plan partnerships, clinically integrated networks, and alternative payment models.
+ Partner with system and regional leaders in population health, primary care, behavioral health, and specialty services to develop targets, monitor progress, drive performance and align operational models.
+ Provide strategic oversight and guidance for VBC initiatives across the Providence Clinical Network.
+ Lead teams to support compliance with health plan, state and federal rules and regulations.
Quality, Outcomes, and Cost Optimization
+ Drive standardization and evidence-based practices that improve quality, reduce variation, and support key metrics such as HEDIS and STAR ratings.
+ Collaborate with finance and analytics to measure performance, identify opportunities, and oversee management and utilization initiatives.
+ Enhance engagement and accountability in performance-based contracts.
+ Collaborate with technology teams and operations teams to rationalize risk technology stack including investigating and investing in future technologies that produce improved insights, reduce caregiver burden and deliver on affordability targets.
+ Collaborate with payor contracting and operations teams to inform risk contract discussions
Clinical Integration and Innovation
+ Foster innovation in care delivery including home-based care, virtual health, team-based care, and advanced primary care models.
+ Support the design of integrated care pathways and transitions that optimize patient experience and reduce unnecessary utilization.
+ Advance the use of informatics, predictive analytics, and digital tools in support of VBC objectives.
Provider Relations and Leadership
+ Build strong relationships with employed and affiliated leaders, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the continuum.
+ Serve as a visible and trusted leader who can inspire cultural transformation in support of whole-person, value-oriented care.
+ Lead committees and governance bodies aligned to VBC and population health strategies.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.
+ Advanced degree from an accredited institution (Preferred)
+ MD or DO with an active and unrestricted medical license; OR
+ Masters degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, Health Services, or a closely related field (MPH, MBA, MHA).
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a health system, health plan, or risk-bearing organization.
+ Experience in a large integrated care delivery system or accountable care organization (ACO). (Preferred)
+ Deep understanding of population health, value-based payment models, and care transformation strategies.
+ Proven ability to lead through influence in a complex, matrixed organization.
+ Familiarity with risk adjustment, quality improvement methodologies, and performance reporting. (Preferred)

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
