Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible. The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s global commercial vision. This executive will lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth, organizational transformation, and operational excellence. Working closely with the Commercial SVP and regional leaders, this role ensures alignment across functions and geographies to meet and exceed growth targets. The Chief of Staff will also champion cross-functional collaboration to build and scale commercial capabilities that support long-term success in a dynamic and competitive market. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Commercial Strategy Execution: Translate strategic commercial initiatives into actionable regional plans. Partner with the Commercial SVP and regional teams to implement, track, and continuously improve execution to exceed growth targets. Member of the global commercial leadership team. + Organizational Readiness & Transformation: Collaborate with executive leadership to evolve the commercial organization, ensuring readiness for innovation, market shifts, and competitive dynamics. Customize transformation efforts by geography, focusing on organizational structure and standard work implementation. + Commercial Operations Optimization: Drive performance through the use of DBS growth tools (e.g., PSP, FM, GR, SW). Mentor and coach commercial leaders to embed operational excellence and continuous improvement across the global commercial engine. + Commercial Excellence & Enablement: Lead cross-functional collaboration to align on key capabilities such as analytics, market insights, decision support, product roadmap, training, and commercial operations. Ensure systems are in place to monitor and manage strategic initiative performance. + Executive Alignment: Provide strategic oversight and integration across commercial functions and regions, breaking down silos to ensure unified execution of the company’s overarching strategy. The essential requirements of the job include: + Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field + 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial strategy, operations, or transformation roles + Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale organizational change + Strong understanding of DBS (Danaher Business System) tools and methodologies + Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) + Experience in the molecular diagnostics (MDx) or life sciences industry + Global leadership experience with a focus on regional customization and execution + Demonstrated success in building commercial capabilities and driving growth in complex, matrixed organizations Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The annual salary range for this role is $260,000- $310,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
