Chief of Staff, People Strategy

The People Strategy Team identifies, develops and delivers solutions, and is comprised of six centers of expertise — HR Strategy, Workforce Planning, Talent & Inclusion, Executive Compensation, Broad-Based Compensation and Benefits & Mobility. The People Strategy team delivers informed perspectives and creative solutions; anticipates and helps the organization respond to market, business and colleague needs; and brings a balance of deep technical expertise and consultative approach to identifying opportunities and developing scalable solutions that enable impact.

The Chief of Staff for the People Strategy COE reports to the Head of People Strategy at Marsh McLennan. This is a critical role, enabling the Head of People Strategy along with the People Strategy Leadership Team to help shape and deliver the people agenda at Marsh McLennan. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional in strategy or HR consulting who manages complex projects or processes aimed at solving high level people-related issues. They will have responsibility for scoping and delivering new and evolving initiatives of the people agenda.

This role will be an integral part of the People Strategy Leadership Team. Given the exposure and breath of responsibilities, the successful candidate needs to be flexible, adaptable, operate with a sense of urgency, exercise discretion and be solutions oriented. Preferred locations are New York City, Philadelphia, or D.C. Others to be considered.

We will count on you to:

Make key connections and drive strategic priorities on behalf of the Head of People Strategy in accordance with the Marsh McLennan Colleague Value Proposition.Provide support, counsel and program management to the Head of People Strategy and the People Strategy Leadership Team, ensuring alignment and uptake of initiatives.Contribute to, and manage global HR projects, partnering with teams within the People Strategy COE and across the broader enterprise.Work closely with the Head of People Strategy on special projects, inclusive of people strategy formulation and development.Represent the People Strategy COE team on cross-functional and enterprise-wide initiatives.Act as a point of contact between the Head of HR Strategy and other stakeholders, providing oversight and guidance.Drive insights-based data and analytics strategy.Perform program management for key initiatives, including monitoring progress against deadlines and milestones, as well as creating report outs for leaders.Define and implement COE communication strategy.Prepare presentations and materials for executive meetings, internal colleague meetings and external engagements.Ensures all programs and initiatives are aligned to agreed relevant schedule, budget, and objectives.Leverage workforce analytics to assess trends, measure effectiveness, and drive data-informed decisions. Present insights and recommendations to leadership to inform strategic decision-making.Oversee continuous research and analysis of market insights relative to human capital trends to develop strategies and solutions.

What you need to have:  

A Bachelor’s degreeA minimum of 7 years of experience in people strategy or HR consulting

The applicable base salary range for this role is $104,800 to $218,300.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
