Chief Nursing Officer opportunity in beautiful Hamilton, Montana!!
Bitterroot Health (MDMH) is seeking candidates to fill a Chief Nursing Officer position. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will serve as the strategic and operational leader for the Nursing Department, Surgical Services, Emergency Department, Oncology/Infusion, and the Clinical Decision Unit at Bitterroot Health. This role is pivotal in advancing clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of compassionate, high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of the Bitterroot Valley. The CNO will be responsible for guiding nursing practice and standards, workforce development, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, staff engagement, and community trust. This executive will bring an onsite, hands-on, collaborative approach and a deep commitment to serving the mission of Bitterroot Health. The CNO is a visible, approachable, and mission-driven executive with proven leadership experience, a deep understanding of rural health, and a passion for improving access and outcomes for our community.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s Degree.
+ Licensures, Certifications, Registrations: Current license by the State of Montana as a Registered Nurse.
+ Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal guidelines and regulations relating to Hospital and Nursing services. Understanding of Quality and Performance Improvement measures including patient satisfaction, HCAHPS, and Core Measures. Basic computer knowledge and experience with EMR. Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in patient care services and a minimum 5 years of managerial experience .
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
