This role is based in Mokopane, Limpopo.

Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

Oversee consistent application ofSafety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.Compile Life of Lease (LoL) plansMaintain monthly rolling Life of Lease (LoL) planCorrective actions required for deviations from planEnsures technical discipline integrity/auditEnsure robustness of short- and long-term plansNecessary skills developmentInput into mining blueprintInput into mine technical systems developmentPlanning scenariosDisseminate best practicesSite specific standards and guidelinesCorrect use of mine technical systemsAccountable for planning information.All Planning reporting systemsAudits compliance with Business Unit guidelines and standards, and mine specific standardsConsolidates short term plansScenario analyses for lease areaValue options for lease areaTrade-off studies for lease area and potential projects.Compile and maintain Life of Lease (LoL) plans.Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.Continuously updates Life of Lease (LoL) plans with short term planning modifications to maintain a Life of Lease (LoL) Rolling window.

This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Technical Mining.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mining (B-Tech as well as Mine Managers Certificate of Competence), or Survey ticket (Government Certificate of Competence)Mining qualifications that support the preparation of mine plans such as survey or mine layouts/ designs

Experience: Technical knowledge

5-7 years working experience of which 5 years in mine planningExperience in massive mining will be advantageous.Experience in longhole drilling and blasting will be advantageous (design and execution)Knowledge in Deswik mine design and scheduling is desiredKnowledge of Aegis (or similar) ring design software is desiredAbility to relate the outputs of mining plans with financial implicationsAbility to obtain information from the relevant sources and liaise with other related disciplines (Survey, Geology, Rock Engineering, etc)Project evaluation skillsBusiness objectives reporting skills
