Chief Medical Officer Proactive Care
**Job Description:** The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Proactive Care serves as the senior clinical leader, driving excellence in patient-centered care across all ambulatory services and promoting proactive health management strategies. The CMO collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical protocols, improve patient outcomes, and champion initiatives that enhance the overall patient experience while reducing healthcare disparities. This role is responsible for designing and implementing clinical policies, overseeing Medical Directors, and supporting system-wide initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and proactive care delivery across employed and affiliate physician networks. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Intermountain Health Board-approved goals. **The salary range for the Chief Medical Officer for Proactive Care is** **$475k - $545k** **annually and as determined by prior years of relevant experience.** **The qualified candidate will need to reside in either Utah or, preferably, Nevada, as the CMO will have an office in NV.** To show our commitment to you and assist with your transition into our organization, we may offer a sign-on and/or a relocation bonus when applicable. As the CMO of Proactive Care, you will: + Design and implement effective policies to manage and prevent unnecessary spending and drive toward proactive care cost and quality goals. + Serve as clinical leadership over Medical Directors, acting as authority for escalated clinical determinations. + Collaborate with the Utilization Management Lead to ensure alignment between UM / Pharmacy programs and care intervention models. + Oversee Medical Director partnerships with Proactive Care Central Risk Services to ensure appropriate clinical guidance is incorporate into performance management programs (e.g., RA, clinical quality, etc.). + Promote education regarding medical policies and appropriate utilization among employed Intermountain physicians and affiliate physicians. + Operate in a matrixed environment to drive outcomes through influence – including developing strong relationships within utilization management operations, risk services, medical group, and affiliate physician leadership. + Participate in key internal and external governance forums to shape the direction of medical policy and care models across the medical group and affiliated physicians. + Interface with employed and affiliate physicians to understand their challenges and priorities to shape policy development. **Skills** + Medical Groups + Leadership + Managing ambiguity + Communication + Medical practice administration + Clinical care + Medical knowledge + Patient safety + Clinical quality + Clinical decision support + Performance improvement **Qualifications** + Expertise in medical policy development, utilization management, and clinical quality, required + Licensed as an MD or DO, required + Highly prefer 5+ years experience as a CMO of a risk-bearing organization, with exposure to risk management and policy development for risk-bearing arrangements across multiple lines of business (e.g., commercial, Medicare) + 5+ years experience as a practicing physician is preferred \#LI-EXECRC **Physical Requirements:** **Physical Requirements** + Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. + Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
