Responsibilities

The CFO-WI is a member of senior administration and is responsible for financial direction and oversight of the MCHS Wisconsin Regions. Collaborates with physician and administration leaders throughout the Mayo Clinic to enhance relationships and identify, lead and support broad strategic institutional activities and initiatives. Serves as a strategic partner to the Regional Vice President and the Regional Chair of Administration for both Wisconsin regions. Participates in institution-wide planning and decision-making. The CFO-WI focuses on efficient and effective delivery of financial service for the Department of Finance shared services function supporting Mayo Clinic Health System. In addition, the CFO-WI is accountable for directly or indirectly overseeing administrative staff, staff assessment and mentoring. The CFO-WI, along with the respective physician chairs, is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, integrating, monitoring and managing the financial activities of Mayo Clinic Health System in Wisconsin.



Qualifications

Master's degree in business or healthcare administration is required or a commitment to completion within one year. CPA preferred. Minimum of ten years of finance experience; 5 years of which must be in successive leadership roles. Experience working with Physician Leaders required, hospital preferred. Strategic and visionary thinker, keen judgment, conceptual analysis and planning skills; skilled in building relationships, developing individuals and working as a part of team; demonstrated ability to achieve results; excellent verbal and written communication skills; sound business and fiscal knowledge; strong customer focus. Must be strong at leading without controlling and able to build consensus with colleagues not under their direction. High integrity as evidenced by valuing all people and groups. Demonstrated ability to manage within a matrix, physician led, and committee-oriented environment. Basic knowledge of Mayo Clinic, Mayo Clinic Health System and broad knowledge of the healthcare industry; appreciates the clinical nature of Mayo Clinic and MCHS practice (versus a solely financial perspective). Ability to articulate the dynamic requirements of a successful finance organization and advocate accordingly.
