Chief Engineer (Active TS/SCI with Poly Required)

Fluor is a leading government contractor with a proven track record of delivering high‑value technical solutions around the world to U.S. government agencies such as the DOE, NNSA, the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. **Job Description** ***** Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance Required ***** This position is responsible for providing in-depth, detailed engineering analysis and support as a vital part of a facility operations team supporting the customer’s mission and keeping mutable buildings online and operational. The daily duties will range from analysis of building Electrical/HVAC systems, direct customer interface for system/efficiency improvements, daily interaction with the entire facility team (Ops, O&M, etc.), working on various facility processes, to coordinating project & maintenance support for active projects within the facility. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Analysis of existing systems (chilled water systems, switchgear, generators, pumping systems, hot water boiler systems, glycol systems, small fan-coil systems, electrical systems, critical grade/computer room cooling units, etc.) + Root cause analysis of any system failure events, including after-action summary report for submission to customer + Analyze, Plan and Schedule a variety of equipment repairs and upgrades to existing electrical/mechanical systems. + Serve as on-call resource for after-hours system issues at the facility. + Develop and provide the detailed SOPs/MOPs/EOPs for use by 24/7 Operations staff. + Provide administration of Vendor maintenance contracts; helping coordinate system outages, scheduling of vendor work, direct coordination with vendor to ensure site access, review of vendor SOWs for effective scope & execution of scope by vendors, plus tasking of vendors for maintenance visits + Plan shutdowns, read blueprints and technical diagrams. + Assist Operations Manager and Lead Technician by working within the customer CMMS to ensure system assets are accurately documented, work orders are input properly, PMs are correctly assigned, and perform QC of various input data + Troubleshoot, repair, and make modifications to electrical/mechanical systems + Order and maintain critical repair parts stock needed to repair and maintain various systems + Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams + Working knowledge of electrical/mechanical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment + Manage relationships with all major vendor accounts + Maintain a high quality of service at all times + Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills + Properly maintain and safeguard assets. + Able to work well on a team \#Intel **Basic Job Requirements** • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner **Other Job Requirements** + Minimum eight (8) years of work-related experience preferably in the engineering, construction, or facility management field, or a similar field in which the applicant can demonstrate extensive knowledge of building systems & understanding of how they operate. + Adept at reading/understanding MEP engineering design documents + Ability to communicate effectively + Highly skilled at computer use; including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & SharePoint. + Effective at system evaluation and problem-solving skills + Understanding of commercial infrastructure systems (chilled water plants, pumping systems, air-handlers, computer room air conditioning units, electrical switchgear, building control systems, etc.) + Strong customer service skills + Understanding of control and communication systems, including BMS systems. + Exceptional organization skills; including management of electronic files for building historical documentation + Basic understanding of project management & construction management + Possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. + Available to be On-Call for emergencies, after-hours work and snow removal. + Tasks could include physical labor; examples include working on ladders, ability to carry minimum 50lbs, retrieving stock items from warehouse via inventory database, use of PPE equipment for switching procedures, ability to obtain forklift/manlift operator’s license, etc. **Preferred Qualifications** + Engineering degree or a licensed P.E preferred + Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification + Extensive knowledge of design/construction and facility management field with experience overseeing construction projects or directly involved in management of large commercial facilities + Flexible and adaptable approach;
