The Chief Engineer is responsible for the daily leadership and operational management of the engineering team, ensuring all building systems and machinery are operated safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role requires a high level of professionalism and a strong commitment to client satisfaction, with a focus on achieving 100% uptime and maintaining the long-term value of the clients assets. Key responsibilities include implementing and managing a reliability-based maintenance program, overseeing equipment inspections, defining maintenance best practices, and continuously improving operational methods. The Chief Engineer will lead a team of technicians, ensuring proper execution of work orders, adherence to procedures, and successful adoption of new processes. They will also support training, develop SOPs, and use digital tools like Microsoft Teams and Outlook to manage work plans and maintenance schedules. This role involves close collaboration with the General Operations Manager on work planning, contractor and vendor management, job hazard assessments, and compliance oversight. The Chief Engineer will proactively identify and resolve issues, support cost-saving and efficiency initiatives, and help integrate new technologies to enhance operations. Initially, the Chief Engineer will oversee a team of approximately six technicians across multiple sites, including Mount Juliet, Smyrna, and Nashville. However, the role is expected to grow significantly over the next 612 months, expanding into a multi-site leadership position. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of commercial facilities operations, strong regulatory compliance experience, and the ability to lead by example in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
