You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world. **A Day in the Life** We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and proactive Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and manage the global compliance and privacy functions for Medtronic Diabetes – a $2.8 billion medical device business that has recently announced that it will be spinning out into a standalone public company. Reporting to the company’s General Counsel, the CCO will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive compliance program that ensures adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, ethical practices, and internal policies—across all regions of operation. The CCO will also lead the company’s global privacy team, ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws. The CCO will play a pivotal role in helping the company prepare for and operate successfully as a publicly traded company, aligning compliance programs with public company standards and shareholder expectations. This role requires you to work on-site at our Northridge, CA office at least 3 days per week. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care. **Key Responsibilities** **:** **Compliance & Ethics Program** **:** + Design, implement, and maintain a risk-based global corporate compliance and ethics program based on the Office of Inspector General’s Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program. + Ensure that operations, products, and business practices align with all laws, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to the sale of diabetes products to patients and healthcare professionals. + Lead the company’s Code of Conduct and patient and healthcare professional interaction global training programs. + Monitor and respond to regulatory developments and industry trends. + Develop policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate compliance risks. + Lead pre- and post-IPO compliance readiness, including risk disclosures, internal controls, training, and compliance related due diligence. **International Regulatory & Commercial Compliance** **:** + Ensure compliance with anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act), global sales and marketing regulations, and international trade compliance. + Support compliance with pricing transparency, market access, and tender processes in diverse jurisdictions. + Develop and oversee global third-party due diligence and monitoring systems. + In collaboration with Legal and Regulatory, ensure compliance with product labeling and approved promotional practices. **Leadership & Governance** **:** + Serve as an advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board Audit Committee on compliance and risk matters. + Prepare and deliver regular reports on the status of the compliance program and material issues. + Build and manage a global compliance team with regional leads. + Promote a culture of integrity and ethical business practices across all levels of the organization. **Investigations & Risk Management** **:** + Oversee internal investigations and reporting of alleged misconduct or compliance violations and work with Human Relations on appropriate discipline. + Establish a confidential and effective whistleblower and reporting mechanism. + Partner with internal audit and legal teams to manage compliance risk assessments and audits. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience + Or, advanced degree and 13+ years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience **Preferred Qualifications** **:** + 15+ years of experience in senior compliance roles, ideally within a publicly traded medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical company. + Deep knowledge of medical device regulatory environments (FDA, EU MDR, etc.). + Experience with compliance-related technologies (e.g., third-party screening, transparency and Sunshine Act reporting platforms, HCP interaction platforms, etc.). + Experience managing compliance in a multinational environment. + Proven leadership and a track record of building high performing teams. + Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. + Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership and influence organizational culture. + Master’s in Law, MBA or equivalent advanced legal degree. + Certifications such as CCEP, CIPP, or CHC. + Experience in a direct-to-consumer business, CMS billing and reimbursement, and/or have worked for HIPAA covered entity. + Prior experience supporting a company through IPO, acquisition, or other major corporate event. **Why Join Us** **:** + Play a strategic leadership role in shaping a world-class compliance program for a mission-driven company that is transforming patient care globally. + Work in a dynamic, collaborative, and international environment. + Join a company committed to ethical innovation and improving health outcomes. **Physical Job Requirements** The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.  The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PR) locations (USD):$217,600.00 - $326,400.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
