Overview
Job Summary:
Educates students in general college chemistry by providing instructional experiences that support course outcomes, and mission and goals of University and/or program. Under the administrative direction of the Academic Dean and/or general direction of the Program Chair.
Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and delivers courses as assigned.
• Evaluates student learning outcomes for expected course and program competencies.
• Participates in classroom and/or clinical instruction.
• Communicates institutional program policies and goals to students, faculty, staff and clinical affiliates as appropriate.
• Communicates course learning outcomes and expected student competencies to clinical affiliates.
• Participates in activities to remain current with advances in knowledge base, teaching and learning strategies, professional practice, trends, issues, and curricular resources.
• Participates in the assessment of Program Learning Outcomes as needed.
• Perform other accountabilities as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree required, terminal degree/certificate in the professional discipline preferred
Work or teaching experience equivalent to three (3) years of post-secondary teaching in the discipline
Current license/certification to practice in the State of Tennessee as appropriate to professional practice areas
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline or
Master's Degree in a related or academically appropriate discipline and the terminal degree/certificate in the professional discipline.
