Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our team, where you will assist in maintaining and organizing quality control systems and audits. As the primary point of contact for troubleshooting quality issues, you will perform quality control tests, interpret analytical findings, and communicate with contract customers. Your role will also involve developing and validating low-level active ingredient assays, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a clean work environment.

ResponsibilitiesAssist the Lab Supervisor in organizing and maintaining quality control systems and audits.Serve as the primary contact for troubleshooting quality issues for the plant and quality team.Perform quality control tests and analyses.Interpret analytical findings to assess compliance with chemical standards and report findings to leadership.Perform all Quality Assurance Technician duties and responsibilities.Communicate with contract customers regarding quality control issues.Develop and validate low-level active ingredient assays.Assist in repairs and maintenance of all laboratory equipment.Maintain a clean work environment using good housekeeping habits.Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.Follow all company policies and procedures.Ensure regular and reliable attendance.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in chemistry or biology.Experience with HPLC, GC, chemistry, analytical chemistry, and wet chemistry.Strong troubleshooting skills.Project management experience.Proven ability to collaborate effectively across company departments.Additional Skills & QualificationsOrganizational and computer skills, including experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office 365.Working knowledge in the operation and repair of gas chromatograph and HPLC; LCMS experience is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.Ability to stand for long periods in extreme temperatures.Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends.Strong communication skills and comfort in client-facing situations.Willingness to grow and take on increasing responsibility.Work Environment

This role offers a direct hire opportunity with a company investing in lab infrastructure and team development. The lab is undergoing a major renovation, providing an exciting chance to join and grow. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with busy seasons from October to May, potentially including extended hours and occasional Saturdays.

The environment is a plant/warehouse/lab setting with moderate to loud noise, near moving equipment, and exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and occasional electrical risks. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for tasks (8+ hours/day), lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, reaching overhead, bending, stooping, climbing, and working at various heights.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
